Day 4, Seattle, WA -- 12:23 AM PST
There were so many times I wanted to quit the fast today. Not that I was especially hungry, just warring against many thoughts... the crises could last longer than you can possibly fast... what impact will fasting really have... How will you make it through work and school... etc.
Well the answer is that I don't know, but I know that with God's help, I can make it one more day. This idea of having the luxury to be able to quit reminded me of the hash reality that those experiencing the suffering can't just leave or end the crises. I can't imagine being in Gaza right now. No clean water. No power.
Jesus, I pray for the Israelis and the Palestinians. I pray for your will to be done and for your justice to come. Please comfort the hurting. Please feed the hungry. Please heal the wounded. Send your people in Gaza to be salt and light in the midst of darkness.
You say in your word that you can change the hearts of Kings: Please change the hearts of the government officials and help them come to terms of peace that will end the suffering and help bring justice and freedom for all in the region.
A follower of Jesus
