Well, I'm a firm believer that you cannot be a good economist and only be an economist. Sadly, the discipline at large has made this more difficult in recent years due to their methodological straight-jackets, but I imagine the current sequel to the Great Depression will change things, not unlike how the earlier Great Depression fostered many changes...
